Noni tea for migraine
by Jeff
(Australia)
Hi Mary Kay,
You have a great site with lots of great information.
As a quick one I suffered from Migraines, but a trip to Fiji in 2004 I bought a box of Noni tea and it has made a huge difference for me. My Migraines are now 1 every 3 to maybe 5 months instead of very 2nd week or a cluster attack.
All the best for 2010.

Hi Jeff!
Glad you like the site. As you are well aware, many hours of hard work goes into a website.
I have not heard of the benefits of Noni tea for migraine, but I have heard of people drinking it for anti-oxidant use, much the same as Green tea.
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) did review Noni tea and found it to be safe. There were 4 cases of liver toxicity thought to be attributed to the tea but they could not find a link. You can read their opinion here. This agency is similar the the American FDA or Food and Drug Administration and I am sure you have an agency like this in Australia.
In reviewing the ingredients and by products of Noni tea that are produced in the body, I do not see any one compound that would be involved with migraine receptor sites. However, I am never one to look a gift horse in the mouth so to speak, so if it is working for you and you feel good, by all means keep it up! You sound like you are sensitive to vitamins and supplements so perhaps magnesium for migraine might also be an option.
Best of luck with your site! Mary Kay Betz MS RPA-C Physician Assistant
