There are dozens of depression tests but the Beck test is one of the most commonly known. The most recent update was in 1996. This particular test for depression is generally administered by a psychologist or a psychiatrist so that the results can be interpreted properly.

Definition Of Depression
This mood disorder has many symptoms. Some people have physical symptoms of depression, which can include fatigue, abdominal pain, back pain, joint aches, appetite changes, and headaches such as migraine. There are ways to treat a a migraineur with depression.

Take A Depression Test
There is a test that you can take privately to determine if you do have depressive symptoms. It is called the Zung Depression Scale. It has 20 questions. A score of 50-69 is the common range for depression. Any score over 70 indicates severe depression. You can download a free Zung depression test here.

If you score over 50 on the Zung test, make an appointment with your physician to discuss the results. The Beck Depression Test will be administered by a psychologist if that person feels you need to be further tested.
