Midrin
I am a compounding pharmacist and I wanted to let you and your readers know that we can compound the prescription drug Midrin which is no longer commercially available. I will need a valid prescription from your treating physician before I can mail the product to you. Anyone interested can contact me at chuck@vitalcareofmisslou.com. Thank you and I hope I can be of help to your readers.
Answer
I am posting this on the blog simply because several of my patients used to be on Midrin. It is a combination formula drug to treat migraine. It has been off the market for awhile, but if you have a compounding pharmacist in your area they probably could make it. You would still need a viable prescription from your doctor. I do not use Midrin anymore as there are better choices in treating migraine.

i've been using midrin for the past 20yrs and have found it to be very effective, especially as i have ocular migraines. am very upset that it's no longer available, as a RN, i get them at work and need to be able to function in a relatively short time once the aura starts. i'm going to be taking imitrex, but have no idea how it will work.thank you for suggesting a compound pharmacist. i'll look around my area in mass. to see if they exist here.

Answer Thanks! I will post to the blog Mary Kay
the email address for the compounding pharmacist was unable to be located. Is there another or current contact site. I have a valid prescription for midrin but cant find any. please contact me at ****
Answer Hi, I took down the email address so you don't get spammed. Someone else had contacted me about that address...so sorry it is wrong.
Here is what you can do. Virtually every community still has pharmacists that do compounding. In our area I have three I can use. Usually these are the people who compound creams for pain management doctors. Ask your doctor or better yet, ask your pharmacist. They will be able to direct to you someone who can fill the prescription. Good luck! Mary Kay

Hi, If you read the posting you will see that there is an email provided from the pharmacist who will compound the medication for you.
You can also ask your doctor for a pharmacy in your area that does compounding and they should be able to make it for you.
